2nd Stage: Anti-Child Prostitution Movement

Launched the campaign "Jogging on Huaxi Street to Fight Underage Prostitution," leading to the passage in Taiwan's legislature of The Garden of Hope's version of the Child and Youth Sexual Trafficking Prevention Act (and, later, the current Child and Youth Sexual Exploitation Prevention Act).

4th Stage: Empowering Girls and Women

Over the many years that we spent providing frontline services, we saw first-hand the needs of the people we were helping. The Garden of Hope continually spoke up for them, participated in initiatives for gender justice, fought for their empowerment, and developed preparatory workplaces to help them find employment.

5th Stage: Building Gender Justice Together

Joined the global movement against violence and called for the foundation of the Asian Network of Women’s Shelters (ANWS). We continue to devote ourselves to ending all sexual and gender violence and oppression in society and to building a society with justice for all genders.
