Human Rights and Democracy Reinforcement
Taiwan's No. 1 brand in discussing transitional justice among young people. If the old ways of the world are like this, we will try to demonstrate against this as young people.

In 2013, a group of students concerned with Taiwanese history and culture began the Gong Sheng Music Commemoration to commemorate the 228 Massacre that took place in 1947. Since then, each year, students have served as the organizers of the Gong Sheng Music Commemoration, to probe how the younger generations understand and remember history. Through organizing a music festival each year on 228, it is hoped that music can serve as a way of allowing more young people to know about these issues.

Outside of the music festival, we also organize a series of events, such as holding talks and screenings with high schools and colleges across Taiwan, and inviting scholars to be the speakers. We also hold workshops on history, flash performances on the streets, and conduct man-on-the-street interviews. We hope to hold different types of activities to allow more people to understand the 228 Incident as just not a holiday that occurs every year.

The Taiwan Gongsheng Youth Association was formed in 2019, with the hope that in preparing these activities, we can gather strength, to be more attentive to the scars that are present on this land and on this island.

Our primary aim is to promote how people can co-exist and support each other on this island. Outside of this, there are many places that society can improve on. With transitional justice as our aim, outside of organizing day schools on human rights, historical writing and literary adaptation workshops, and camps to teach about the 228 Massacre and human rights, in the future, we hope to hold more popular history and youth capacity-building workshops in the future.
