Nationality and Sovereignty

In the midst of intense global power dynamics, Taiwan's democratic achievements and geopolitical significance are widely acknowledged. Yet, China's pressure prevents our recognition as a sovereign state. In response to authoritarian tactics, both government and civil society must prioritize "democratic defense," strengthening national and civil defense and countering infiltration and cognitive warfare to safeguard our democracy. Alongside national consciousness, preserving our diverse cultural heritage, including indigenous traditions and languages, is crucial. Building a united modern civic community stands as Taiwan's most urgent task.
